Network Engineer providing support to the Multi-Domain Task Force - Pacific (MDTF-Pacific) at Joint Base Lewis McChord. Operates as a member of a team of highly skilled engineers, data scientists, system integrators and cybersecurity professionals to collect, ingest, process, analyze, visualize, share, and secure the data, all MDTF information systems and networks that support the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
Tasks include:
- Support to the assembly of infrastructure within a cloud environment that is scalable, highly available, and adaptable with multiple environments that take advantage of managed services in the cloud
- Support to the development of a solid data foundation to process modeling data and perform robust analytics.
- Support to using online experimentation and other data science methodologies
- Support to a DevSecOps Pipeline for deployment into SC2S LEAP environment.
Support to Certification and Accreditation Activities -- Use Risk Management Framework (RMF) or FedRAMP ATO experience to assess organizational progress against existing security strategies, plans, or directives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Support to 1MDTF’s Information Assurance (IA) boundary - and devices within the domain.
Support to the 1MDTF JADC2 experimentation process in enabling equipment on to MDTF technology infrastructure.
BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7 Will consider: Edu/Exp: HS 11-14 Years, BA/BA 5-10 Years, or MA/MS 3-6 Years.
The following skill sets are required for this position:
- Understand networking fundamentals and how a modern, cloud-hosted application stack works.
- Knowledge of technical network solutions to system integration and cloud-based applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, OSPF and BGP, MPLS, VPNs and Load Balancers.
- Must have knowledge of the Army Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN-A) operations and data flow and Project Manager Tactical network or PM Tactical Network.
General skillsets:
Experience performing system requirements analysis, design, and development activities.
Expertise performing engineering analysis and issue resolution.
DoD 8570 certification requirement: Must have Security or an IAT III qualifying certificate. (Submit DoD 8570 certification prior to entering work role). Must hold the appropriate DoD 8570.01 baseline certification applicable to this work role prior to beginning work.
Work Location: on-site inside Multi-Domain Task Force HQs, Building 3360, and/or Intelligence Operations Facility (Building 9111) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Clearance; Active TS//SCI clearance
Work schedule: Monday-Friday, from 8 am – 5 pm. Surge support or extended work week may be authorized as required
