Position description:

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator II candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be a part of the Sustainment team supporting a portfolio of applications across multi-networks. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Perform daily application sustainment tasks to include data synchronization and application service monitoring and correction.
• Work with a development team to perform code migration and required configuration tasks.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks and work with developers to implement those fixes.
• Trouble-shoot, monitor, and resolve system issues as required to maintain operations
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Build, maintain, and deploy client and server systems.
• Work with an Information Assurance team to ensure compliance with Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)

Qualifications

BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with 2 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience with systems administration
• Must be a US Citizen
• Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication, and ability to pass a poly
• Must hold active CompTIAs8570 Approved Certification (e.g. Security )
• Experience working with an internal certificate server
• Ability to anticipate problems & take decisive action 
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional and respectful telephone etiquette
• Must be decisive, conscientious, and interact well in a team environment
• Have a strong desire to learn and be able to follow policies and procedures
• Must demonstrate the ability to work well with a limited supervision

Desired Qualifications: 

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher
• Familiarity with Peoplesoft/PeopleTools
• Capable of deploying and integrating new applications as well as learning new applications that run on various operating systems for testing and deployment
• Experience with performance tuning/troubleshooting, identifying/resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O, etc.
