PeopleTec is currently seeking a Data Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is looking for a Lead Data Engineer and Architect to oversee and drive comprehensive data engineering and architecture initiatives. The role requires designing and implementing data architecture solutions on a cloud platform, collaborating closely with business stakeholders, model-based systems engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to comprehend data requirements, and designing scalable data models. The key responsibilities include developing, testing, deploying, and sustaining data pipelines that contribute to an end-to-end data analytics system. This involves utilizing a mix of COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools to develop efficient data ingestion strategies, define storage and retrieval mechanisms, and implement data governance practices. This multifaceted role demands a strong combination of technical expertise, collaboration skills, and a commitment to data quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Desired Skills/Experience:

• 5 years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or any related role to Data solutions.
• In-depth knowledge ETL / ELT processes, data integration patterns, data transformation techniques, and data warehousing concepts (to include dimensional modeling).
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles and experience with relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modeling techniques.
• Strong proficiency in cloud data services and products.
• Familiarity with big data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or Hadoop.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Scala, and/or R.
• Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance practices in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Must have ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance after start date and maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
• High level of proficiency in Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts.
• Travel: 5-10 %
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field
