Job Description

Overview

Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources department including volunteer, clinical learner and intern and contract employee recruitment. Maintain human resource information systems, provide customer service that exceeds expectations and promote employee engagement.

 

The starting range for this position is between $22.36- $24.04 hourly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain applicant tracking system, draft and post job advertisements, coordinate applicants throughout the recruitment process and assist with revising job descriptions for volunteer, clinical learner and intern, and contract employee roles.
  • Assist with special events and volunteer, clinical learner and intern, and contract employee engagement and departmental recognition activities. Create purchase authorizations as needed.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation and offboarding for volunteers, clinical learners and interns and contract employees, ensuring all actions are completed within required timelines. (Including criminal background checks, online scheduling of drug screens, routing job offers and onboarding/offboarding documents electronically.)
  • Keep electronic personnel files up to date for all volunteers, clinical learners and interns and contract employees, including hours of service, demographic information and annual training and policy compliance.
  • Process and update affiliate agreements as needed.
  • Respond to general human resources questions, information requests, employment verifications and provide troubleshooting support to employees on a variety of HR issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, work processes, and work cooperatively to implement these and other quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with fellow human resources specialist monthly for internal newsletter.
  • Provide primary leadership at fairs, outreach events, schools, corporations, etc. in promoting People’s Community Clinic’s opportunities.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

Education: 

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with major coursework in a related field preferred.

Experience:   

  • 1 - 3 years of human resources experience including employee or volunteer recruitment and onboarding.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to address individuals and information tactfully and with a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in human resources data base or information system management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to interact successfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities. 

 

Certificate/License: PHR/SHRM-CP preferred.
