People's Community Clinic is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Austin, TX

Overview

Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by helping ensure that the work environment is safe and suitable for employees and maintenance issues are resolved efficiently and use resources wisely.

The starting rate for this position is $22- $26 hourly. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for multiple facilities, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work. Ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
  • Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
  • Performs custodial tasks.
  • Assists with structural pest control measures.
  • Maintains records and logs of daily activities.
  • Assists with special events, as needed.
  • Performs related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

  • Five years’ experience in building trade maintenance
  • Experience working with vendors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Basic computer literacy in MS Office applications
  • Perform semi-skilled facility maintenance
  • Safely and effectively use, operate, and maintain equipment and tools
  • Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Independently organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments
  • Maintain records and files on work performed
  • Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing
  • Must have reliable transportation

Certificate/License:

  • HVACR certification preferred.
  • Texas Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Basic computer literacy in MS Office applications
  • Must have reliable transportation
