We are looking for individuals who are eager to serve children as a Teacher Assistant.

Pediatrics Plus provides all of the necessary training to start your career as a Preschool Classroom Teacher, as well as opportunities to grow with us through professional development. Our training program will provide all the tools you need to be successful as you learn to engage and instruct children in our developmental preschool(s).

What you will do:

Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited to learn and is passionate about helping children in a fun, engaging, and collaborative manner.

  • Provide interaction and activity for healthy development, curriculum implantation, playground activities, social and emotional development
  • Establish and maintain learning environment(s) required to motivate and enable children to achieve developmental milestones appropriate for their age
  • Work with healthcare professionals in providing individualized care for each child to establish intervention strategies and encourage the child's growth and development.
  • Ensure a positive emotional climate for children by showing respect to children and adults through a willingness to help others, by maintaining harmonious interpersonal relations and through use of appropriate and approved de-escalation techniques.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment is maintained and that children are kept clean, clothing is changed when necessary, and toys and other materials are disinfected each day.
  • Maintain active involvement with children during periods of physical activity to promote gross and fine motor development
  • Follow treatment plans developed by developmental evaluators
  • Motivate children by customizing activities and techniques to their preferences
  • Respond intentionally to challenging behavior by helping children de-escalate and prompting appropriate skills
  • Support growth efforts by sharing job postings and participating in community outreach events
  • Toilet training and diaper changing will be required

  • Ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position and to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
  • Working knowledge of computer technology: Windows operating systems, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email

Minimum Requirements:

  • Availability Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 1 year of experience working with children in a professional setting (preferred)
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
