Veterinary Assistant wanted for Peace River Veterinary Clinic, a four doctor small animal practice in downtown Punta Gorda.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring treatment areas, examination rooms, hospital areas, cages, and laboratories are clean and organized.
• Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations.
• Perform daily appointment reminder phone calls and surgery follow-up phone calls.
• Prepare medications and vaccinations for patients.

Must have professional appearance, good communication skills, friendly with clients and co-workers, and enjoy working with people and animals. One of the most important hiring criteria will be an excellent attitude with a pleasant personality to mesh with our team.

Eventually, we would like for the person in this position to advance from veterinary assistant to veterinary technician as we help train the individual.
