Job Description

Min $172,000/yr Max $233,000/yr

SUMMARY

A brief description summarizing the overall purpose and objectives of the position and the results the worker is expected to accomplish.

Provide tactical planning, team direction and oversight execution of the stated goals of the Information Technology Department. With direction from the VP Information Technology, assist in formulating solutions to strategic vision and direct the execution of solutions to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of PDC. Provide leadership for the Information Technology staff, assist with application implementation and support, and provides direction for the technology infrastructure.

Oversee the activities of the department (pertaining to system implementations) to ensure delivery of commitments in conformance with budget and timelines. Responsible for planning, implementing and documenting procedures to support policy and meet PDC’s mission and vision. Assists with IT Governance, development and tracking of IT budgets. Oversee project execution, ensure budget conformance, and provides Information Technology Services to PDC in a timely, highly reliable, cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done.

  • Accountable for a high-performing computing infrastructure including, but not limited to, planning and management of computer operations and production support, systems, business applications, database administration and reporting, release management, business continuity, telephony, cloud services, help desk, and field support;
  • Develop technology infrastructure strategy and implementation roadmaps in collaboration with VP Information Technology and IT/business leaders. Participate in strategic activities to continue development of our enterprise architecture, cloud and outsourcing strategies. High level planning, organizing, and execution of IT functions;
  • Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical operations. Track and maintain technology operation services within the established SLAs, and create key metrics and user satisfaction measures focusing on the continuous improvement of services;
  • Help identify opportunities to automate systems and processes throughout our entire organization. Develop innovative solutions to business problems, adoption of new processes, services and technologies to meet the needs of the organization;
  • Manage long-term projects from start to finish. Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new infrastructure, applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages;
  • Oversee departmental finances, including budgeting, and forecasting with the Vice President IT. Tracks budgets to actuals, manages spend to forecasts, and identifies ways to optimize existing budget;
  • Responsible for ordering, acquisition, inventorying, and disposition of hardware and software;
  • Maintains an integrated view of PDC applications, security, compliance and quality control issues. Manages secops functions. Actively monitors for software vulnerabilities and oversees our Patching program. Implements processes, procedures, and effective security monitoring for proactive identification and resolution of potential issues.
  • Leads disaster recovery planning and testing activities, develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss;
  • Maintain ITGC compliance, SOX certification and represent IT in response to internal and external audits; maintain system & configuration documentation. Update and expand IT policies that cover change management, data access, devices, incident response, and other issues;
  • Develop and communicate department to company goals and mission to team members; Hold departmental meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives; provide consistent performance feedback, conduct performance appraisals; provide day-to-day supervision and delegate work assignments;
  • Build and lead a high-performance team . Partner with HR to recruit, hire, and provide appropriate training for IT support staff;
  • Oversee Change Management activities. Ensure all activities follow proper SDLC practices including testing. Lead root cause analysis activities as needed;
  • Creates an environment where innovators can successfully achieve professional career path goals;
  • Other duties, not listed, may be assigned by the VP Information Technology;

  • Communicate with the IT department of changes and news worthy events within the company and effectively communicate relevant IT-related information to management and public;
  • Mentor, grow and guide IT junior management by assigning tasks, reviewing status reports and addressing problems as needed;
  • Proven track record of maturing and automating IT systems and processes
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables;
  • Work with HR to handle personnel situations in a fair and respectful manner;
  • Sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented;
  • Documented working experience with design, development or enhancement of ERP, Business Intelligence, Data Integration solutions. Experience with system development, complex project management;
  • Documented working experience with Microsoft Windows Environments, Public and Private Cloud environments, VMWare, Citrix, Office 365 and DR/BC applications;
  • Strong technical experience with architecting, implementing and supporting on-premises infrastructure, public/private cloud infrastructure and business application solutions in a mid to large size organization;
  • A comprehensive experience of Project Management methodology is required;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications required to perform the job.

  • Accomplished incumbent possessing well-developed leadership skills; typically, with a minimum of 15 years progressive job-related experience. Possesses expert knowledge, executes department strategy, and has firm understanding of corporate vision;
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, mathematics or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technical operations management and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Preferred minimum of 10 years experience in Project Management and/or similar applications development;
  • Previous Oil & Gas experience preferred but not required;
  • Government-regulated environment – SOX Compliance, and Regulatory Reporting experience preferred but not required.
