Job Description

Min $76,500/yr Max $93,500/yr

Bonus Target 12.5%

Equity Target 10%

SUMMARY

A brief description summarizing the overall purpose and objectives of the position and the results the worker is expected to accomplish.

The Accountant II will participate as a member of the Accounts Payable Team and will coordinate with the activities of the Accounts Payable Associates engaged in calculating, processing, posting and verifying accounts payable transactions. They will serve as a resource for the Accounts Payable Associates and AP system users as needed, identify and analyze workflow issues, recommend or implement measures for improvements; monitor processing of invoices; assist in coordinating payment processes; and analyze basin performance. This will also include accurate and timely recording of transactions and the establishment and adherance to timelines and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position that are most important to get the job done.

  • Assist with the monthly accounting close processes;
  • Prepare journal entries as necessary;
  • Prepare account reconciliations as necessary;
  • Assist Accounts Payable Associates with any issues or questions that may arise;
  • Suggest improvements and lead implementation of improvement initiatives;
  • Promptly address vendor inquiries;
  • Track processing of invoices requiring special payment or turnaround;
  • Work with Accounts Payable Lead, Manager, and staff members to ensure that department work activities proceed smoothly, and resources are allocated as needed;
  • Assist in invoice and payment processing; ensure and validate appropriate approval authority, general ledger coding, and compliance with policies and procedures;
  • Provide analytics and variance analysis as assigned;
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required at the direction of E&P Analysts, as well as certain other Financial and Operational personnel;
  • Collaborates with Operational Analysts to share relevant data and information as needed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
