Today, PCC is the nation’s largest community-owned grocery chain and a category thought leader. The co-op employs more than 1,700 staff across its Seattle-based office and 16 stores. Most store staff are represented by United Foods and Commercial Workers Local 21 (UFCW 21).

Position Overview

The Human Resources Administrator serves as a process and systems administrator within Human Resources. Completes general duties in support of the HR function while maintaining strong customer focus related to caring for PCC staff. Supports our new HR model by being on our team of three Human Resources Administrators that will support onboarding and all HR functions.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to employees by answering questions and responding to requests for assistance
  • Administrative support for the entirety of the employee lifecycle; from onboarding to offboarding
  • Cross-functional administrative support, including:
    • Benefits – provide new hires with benefits information and ensure they’re enrolled, assist with yearly Open Enrollment
    • 401k – provide information to staff and ensure eligible staff are enrolled
    • Dayforce – assist new hires and current staff with accessing and updating their accounts, Onboarding administration
    • L&I Claims – managing the relationship of our outsourced Worker’s Compensation
    • Training – prepare training materials, room set up
    • Recruiting – job postings and interview scheduling
    • Maintain and update employee personnel files
  • Assists and/or executes special projects
  • Supports all areas of HR as needed
  • Handles confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: HR Operations Manager

Accountable to: Chief People Officer

Qualifications and Skills

REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive demeanor
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially MS Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and problem solve
  • Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and data integrity
  • Proven success working in a team environment with the ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to travel to store locations as needed

PREFERRED:

  • Minimum 1-year previous HR and/or office administrative experience
  • Experience using HRIS/payroll systems in administrative role
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems or Recruiting software
