Job Description

The AEMT is responsible for patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care provider. This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization. The AEMT reports to the Practice Manager and the Assistant Practice Manager.

Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities

1. Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care
2. Process telephone messages with complete information and time and date stamped
3. Follow prescription refill procedures
4. Initiate and complete prior authorization as needed for medication
5. Maintain patient records confidentiality
6. Computer knowledge and typing skills of 40 words per minute
7. Check patients in, scanning paperwork, collecting co-pays
8. Checking patients out, printing prescriptions, scheduling future appointments
9. Making reminder calls for procedures, and providing preparing for procedure instructions
10. Making follow up calls day after procedures
11. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations
12. Organizational skills
13. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, team, and management
14. Performs routine screening tests, such as, height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.
15. Perform Intramuscular Injections
16. Perform waived testing which includes: Urine Drug Screens, HCG Pregnancy Testing, and Glucose Blood Tests
17. Cleans treatment rooms for patient examinations
18. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements?

1. EMT certification required
2. CPR Certification for Health Care Providers is required
3. HIPAA Certification is required
4. OSHA Certification is required
5. Minimum 5-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
