Job Description Summary: PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA Job Duties: Analyze product specifications to design and implement optimizations for internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning data infrastructure for greater scalability. Work with large volumes of data, writing pipelines to extract and manipulate large datasets for reintegration into the software ecosystem. Work closely with the data science team to ensure the quality and accuracy of key data points needed to automate different machine learning workflows and assist with data infrastructure needs. Research, analyze, design, develop, and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards, and improving build and test systems. Estimate engineering efforts, plan execution cycles, and rollout system changes. Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD/test automation, and create reusable, production-ready frameworks. Job Description: Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. Special Skill Requirements: 1.Develop enterprise-level applications using Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JavaFX) and Java IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse) 2.Design, develop, and deploy scalable applications and solutions on Google Cloud platform. 3.Utilize Google Cloud platform storage and database services (Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Bigtable, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub) 4.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka cluster performance, data consistency, and scalability. 5.Monitor Aerospike clusters, optimize performance, and troubleshoot data issues. 6.Design/optimize data models, including namespaces, sets, records, and indexes. 7.Design, develop, and consume scalable RESTful APIs, including RESTful service testing and validation techniques (unit testing, integration testing, API contract testing). 8.Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT). 9. Extract, analyze, and visualize data. 10.Utilize Splunk's alerting and notification mechanisms, write complex search queries using Splunk's Search Processing Language (SPL). 11.Utilize Hibernate ORM to simplify and streamline database interactions within Java applications.
