Description

Job Title: Collections Specialist

We’re seeking an outgoing, analytical, and innovative Collections Specialist to join the accounting department of our rapidly growing company in Houston! This is a great opportunity to participate in the development of new processes with ample opportunities for advancement. Join us in serving others and growing in the Greater Houston area!

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers, mortgage companies, and team members to collect outstanding accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Analyze files to determine appropriate collections activities, including invoicing, preparing written correspondence, securing timely mechanics liens, and communicating verbally with customers on a daily basis.
  • Maintain diligent notes of communications with customers and initiate follow-up actions.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reporting of the status of accounts and provide recommendations on resolution of open accounts.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of customer information and files.
  • Creates invoices according to company practices utilizing invoicing software.
  • Assist with other projects in the accounting department as appropriate.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary, based on experience, plus quarterly bonus structure.
  • Ten (10) days of paid time off (PTO) per year.
  • Seven (7) paid holidays per year.

  • Participation in 401(k) plan with employer matching after 3 months of employment.

Requirements

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • *Two - five years of experience in a collections or accounts receivable role required.
  • *Construction industry experience and expertise in securing timely mechanics, liens in Texas is highly valued!
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail!
  • Ability to thrive while collaborating in a team environment.
  • Willingness to incorporate new technology to advance processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Handle front desk duties.
