Title Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Specific Title Appointment Type Tenure Track Faculty Department IUSM - Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis is expanding and invites applications for tenure or a tenure-track faculty position for conducting research within the department. The department is looking to further expand its basic, translational, and clinical research programs. The department is interested in applications from candidates who are studying basic biology and mechanisms of disease in cancer biology, computational pathology, hematology, immunology, or neurodegeneration. The successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, independent, and well-funded research program, and contribute to the educational, service, and/or clinical missions of the medical school. Faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will join a thriving, collegial, and supportive research environment that is rich with core facilities, robust cross-disciplinary graduate training programs, and diverse expertise in AD and related dementias. Other resources include the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute, the Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (IADRC), the Simon Cancer Center, Division of Computational Pathology.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain an independent and well-funded research laboratory in one of the above fields.
* Clinical mission, for MD or MD/PhD, opportunity to participate in clinical practice of pathology in one of the following fields (Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Hematopathology, Molecular Pathology, Neuropathology based on candidates' skill and interest)
* Contribute to the educational mission of the department in the areas of UME, GME or CME

* Expected to have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and funding commensurate with their rank.
* The department is looking to further expand its basic, translational, and clinical research programs, particularly in the areas of cancer biology, computational pathology, hematology, immunology, and neurodegenerative diseases, although outstanding candidates in other areas will also be considered.
* Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an energetic, independent, and well-funded research program, and contribute to the educational, service, and/or clinical missions of the medical school.
