Overview

Partners in Excellence is a premier autism therapy center providing autism therapy services to children ages 1-10 in a healthcare setting. The Program Supervisor supervises the day-to-day therapy operations for one or more assigned therapy areas referred to as PODs. The Program Supervisor provides direct therapy to clients, as well as acts as a Primary Behavior Therapist when needed. The Program Supervisor is expected to provide services that place the highest priority on the ethical delivery of therapy with the best interests of the clients at the center of their efforts. The Program Supervisor maintains a professional and ethical relationship with Partners’ clients, families, and fellow employees. The Program Supervisor demonstrates leadership in the POD, center, and throughout the company. The Program Supervisor provides supervision and leadership in the POD and center. The Program Supervisor communicates regularly with the Center Manager regarding clients and staff performance. They also assist with specific company functions.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Approximately 50% of time spent on clinical services (e.g., direct client therapy, protocol modification, parent training, etc.) – time spent may vary based on approved involvement in company projects or initiatives
  • Approximately 50% of the time is spent on staff development and POD management
  • Manages POD scorecard; ensures all metrics and measures are achieved and develops countermeasures when needed, and follows the Traction/ EOS Model
  • Supervises all clinical staff within designated POD or PODs who provide direct therapy
  • Makes day-to-day scheduling decisions for their assigned therapy areas (PODs)
  • Staff management including attendance, timecard approval, Paid Time Off (PTO) and Unpaid Time Off (UPTO), ensures certifications are active and up-to-date
  • Manages employee lifecycle from interviewing, onboarding, and performance management including reviews, training and development, corrective action
  • Assists therapists in achieving their professional development goals through career development and performance management
  • Conducts and supervises the initial and on-going client treatment plans
  • Ensures that each new client has an initial baseline and that all clients have an appropriate Individual Treatment Plan, therapy schedule, and equipment
  • Through modeling, monitoring, coaching, training and feedback, teaches and ensures that all therapists are providing effective therapy services
  • Monitors and evaluates client program outcomes; makes changes accordingly as part of the client’s clinical team
  • Reviews client reports for thoroughness, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • In coordination with the Mental Health Professional, writes and implements effective behavioral interventions; ensures behavioral and curriculum data is collected and analyzed
  • Maintains a professional and ethical relationship with Partners In Excellence’s clients and fellow employees.
  • Provides direct therapy to maintain and demonstrate skills and to fill in during staffing shortages
  • Understands payor rules to ensure compliance
  • Organizes the POD space; makes the Center Manager aware of infrastructure needs (i.e., vacant cubes, new cube assignments, how resources are being used and overall day-to-day functionality)
  • Assists the organization in workforce analysis
  • Assigns scheduled activities and allocates staff time to meet identified organizational priorities and goals
  • Effectively schedules a balance of clinical services and direct therapy services
  • Collaborates with rehab and mental health professional staff
  • Leads POD stand up meetings and other meetings as required
  • Proactively communicates with senior leaders
  • Provides leadership at an advanced level
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have a four-year degree in a related field from an accredited college, or may substitute additional experience and training
  • Previous behavioral therapy experience working with children with autism
  • Internal candidates must be recommended for this position by the Center Manager
  • Must meet state credentialing requirements in WI – Forward Health Behavior Therapist and MN – EIDBI Level 2 to complete specific responsibilities in the role
  • 2 years clinical experience or equivalent
  • Successfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in clinical psychology, special education, elementary education, or related field
  • Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • 3 years clinical experience or equivalent
  • 1 years of supervisory experience or equivalent

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position supervises between 8-14 employees per POD, may oversee 1-2 PODs and is responsible for all performance management

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computers/software, Microsoft Office 0365, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
