JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate for this position will work with our existing product development team to assist in the design, development, maintenance and testing of new and existing products. The Hardware Electrical Engineer is responsible for the complete design cycle of new products and will be required to evaluate parts and process for cost efficiency, manufacturability and reliability. The candidate will also be required to coordinate with partners and vendors to be informed of updates and changes to existing components while also aware of new product roadmap information. Qualified candidates will possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with implementation of good engineering practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• All aspects of schematic capture, layout and simulation with mixed analog and digital designs.

• Generate manufacturing packages and coordinate with contract manufacturers.
• Familiar with the use of standard lab equipment for test, verification and debug.
• Assist with board bring up and debugging.
• Review and provide feedback on design proposals.
• Must possess problem solving skills, strong digital and analog skills and ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner. 

• Professional, clear verbal and written communication.
• Generate failure analysis and problem reports to management.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience in process development.

• Ability to generate product documentation including, but not limited to; data sheets, test plans, user guides, ICDs, etc.
• Soldering of components to the size of 0201.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (will consider years of related experience in lieu of degree) 
• 5 years of experience 
• US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Travel up to 25% (more travel will be needed for candidates who are not in Huntsville, AL or Dallas, TX locations)
