We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to assist in the general maintenance and repairs of our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general maintenance. In addition, a passion for working with seniors and a customer-service attitude is a must.

Hours are flexible: 40 hours per week- Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, develop, and direct the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the facility and maintains proper operations of the property.

Must know maintenance practices, life safety code, procedures, and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance in our SNF.

Periodically check the maintenance communication books and complete any tasks listed and sign once complete.

Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment.

Paint and touch-up areas as necessary.

Clean and change heaters/air conditioner filters as necessary. Test the fire alarm weekly.

Make sure all designated emergency exits and walkways are clear and free from any barriers.

Ensure fire safety and other inspections are complete.

Respond to calls from employees and residents.

Perform maintenance duties as requested by the facility supervisor.

Requirements

Must at least one year of experience in LTC and Healthcare Maintenance.

Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.

Must be able to work independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and work effectively with the residents, families, and personnel.
