The Group Sales Manager is an experienced, hospitality professional responsible for developing client relationships and soliciting new business to achieve budgeted revenue goals.

Responsibilities include:

Gains understanding of the location’s primary group customer and their expectations; serves the customer by understanding their vision and bringing it to life at Park Hyatt Chicago

Create and execute strategic account management goals for assigned market

Monitor competitive hotel trends and adjust business actions accordingly

Adjust group pricing and strategically negotiate group concessions as needed to secure business

Draft, negotiate and sign group contracts that align with the hotel budget and revenue targets

Upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue potential

Conducts day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships with existing and new accounts that enable achievement of sales objectives

Provides hotel tours both in person and virtually using the latest technology and creative visuals

Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, travel and tradeshows, prospecting calls, and entertainment as outlined.

Leads internal communication with all necessary departments and colleagues for potential business opportunities to ensure flawless execution

Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities

Acts as a Park Hyatt brand ambassador in all connections and communication

Any other tasks as assigned by Director of Sales, Marketing & Events

Salary

Salary range for this position is $61,000 - $87,000. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
  • Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
