About the Position

Technology Support Specialist assists with the technology and communications needs of Parc Center for Disabilities. This position will support the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the technology environment by providing support services to all users. 

This is a highly interactive role that requires an on-site presence, meaningful interactions with all employees as well as an eye for detail and a heart for people. Parc Center for Disabilities is a 24/7/365 facility with 3 shifts per day, including weekends. 

Working on site at Parc Center for Disabilities’ campus, you’ll find a dedicated team, unified in building an engaged, people-centered work environment.

Schedule: 8am-4pm (will need to be flexible depending on business needs)

Pay: $17.50/hour

Your day to day

• Provide telephone, email, remote, and onsite support for all users of technology.

• Perform technology “helpdesk” support activities, which includes creating and maintaining support logs or helpdesk tickets

• Assist with system builds, deployment, moves, and changes, printer/copier inventory and maintenance, audio/visual inventory control setup and support

• Document and manage incoming support requests based on priorities to insure timely resolution. Maintain use of good judgment, resourcefulness, and communication to resolve issues or escalate to proper IT staff or vendor for proper resolution. 

• Provide user training and new user orientations as needed.

• Assist in the management of hardware, network, and applications. This will include setup, management, recycling, moves, and changes.

• Trouble-shoot application issues and perform resolution activities. Document issues and resolution appropriately. 

• Adhere to and advocate requirements mandated in the organization’s Computer Resources and Acceptable Use Policy, as well as Parc’s overall mission, philosophy and values or report infractions to appropriate management team member.

• Maintain and develop technical knowledge appropriate to the position as time and financial budget permits.

• Perform other job functions as assigned.

• Education, Training and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• Minimum 1 year of experience in frontline desktop support position required.

• Proficiency in MS Windows operating systems, desktop, laptop, cellular hardware/systems software, MS Office, and other various office equipment required. 

• Must be able to communicate effectively with end users outside of IT both verbally and in writing and be able to work with all Parc team members, consumers, as well as external contacts.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• Support may require after-hours and on-call availability. Must have a willingness to adjust schedule when needed. 

Special Certifications, Registrations, Licenses or Other Requirements

• Valid Florida Drivers’ License with acceptable driving record.
