Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Placement can be in Maryland, DC or Virginia
Responsibilities and Job Duties
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities. Duties involve swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, minimal public relations, janitorial duties, sanitizing, pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing (only if you are a pool operator), pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms and all other duties as necessary or required. Employee should have good organizational and communication skills. This is a position requiring weekend and holiday work. Additional duties and responsibilities are below;
1. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
2. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
3. Wears a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
4. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
5. Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Must be a Team player.
Must have a valid Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification by job start date.
Working Conditions: Manual labor is required. Extreme weather conditions and working with chemicals (pool operators only) are factors in this position. Physical Requirements: Physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, or push heavy objects. Climbing in and out of the swimming pool, up and down ladders. Employee should have the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of verbal and written communication as well as the ability to convey detailed or important instructions to other lifeguards and the general public.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
