Job Description

Job Scope This position will support Le Jardin Academy’s student billing, accounts receivable and cash receipts processes. This position will also explore opportunities for improvement, system implementation, and excellent customer service.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Acts as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, staff and other parties concerning student tuition accounts and incoming payments

  • Maintain student accounts through timely posting of all charges and discounts in tuition management software system

  • Deposit cash receipts and perform accurate recording of receipts in accounting software system

  • Reconciliation of unrestricted and restricted giving

  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

  • Perform month-end procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of income and receivables

  • Process refunds and returned checks

  • Assist with the collection of past due accounts

  • Petty cash management and reconciliation

  • Vault management

  • Update and maintain cash receipts policies and procedures

  • Assist with annual compliance and financial audits as necessary

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  •  Ability to work in an environment that has many interruptions and multiple demands

  • Absenteeism and tardiness disrupt workflow and service and can cause undue hardship on fellow employees. Regular and timely attendance each workday is an essential condition of employment

  •  Observes and abides by Le Jardin Academy’s employment policies, acceptable conduct guidelines and established procedures, operational work protocols, and safety procedures

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or relevant experience

  • 3-5 years proven working experience in accounts receivable or relevant field

  •  Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
