THE OPPORTUNITY: The Senior Project Manager, Operations is responsible for leading cross-functional projects from inception to completion. They coordinate people and processes to deliver projects with the desired outcomes aligned to critical organizational objectives. Responsibilities may include project management, change management, resource allocation, training, and policies and procedures. It is essential that the Senior Project Manager build relationships and collaborate with all departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Management

  • Work with Senior Director, Operations to implement PanCAN-specific program management office (PMO) processes and tools that support ongoing management, reporting, and governance of key initiatives/projects.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of projects across the organization.
  • Provide leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Provide facilitation to groups of all sizes and staff at all levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including organization leadership) to effectively communicate project expectations, status, and metrics in a timely and clear manner.
  • Manage project team activities to ensure projects are on time, on scope, and on budget.
  • Ensure all projects exhibit consistent utilization of organization-wide systems.
  • Oversee scope, risk, and issue management, including documenting, communicating, and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Work with departments to create and document efficient workflows. When working with multiple departments, ensure handoffs are clearly defined.
  • Partner with Director, Operations to identify and develop resources needed to support project management infrastructure across the organization.

Collaboration and Integration

  • Foster an atmosphere of open communication that builds trust across the organization forging partnerships across traditional department boundaries.
  • Collaborate with departments to create synergy thereby optimizing resources and tools.
  • Identify areas to integrate and work interdepartmentally to improve workflows, operations and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 5-7 years’ experience in project management.
  • PMP certification.
  • Background in meeting facilitation and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • A positive, solutions-oriented demeanor and the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external constituents, both face-to-face and remotely.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management, planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Demonstrates sound decision-making skills.
  • Strong customer and results orientation.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Skilled in organizational change management.
  • Must be team-oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills with diverse groups of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent leadership and communication (written, verbal and presentations).
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Flexible with proven ability to confirm to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
