Position Title: Senior Accountant

Primary Responsibilities

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements with the goal to equip the management team with necessary information to make business decisions
• Conduct complex general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
• Prepare daily and monthly Journal entries, and execute assigned component of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and identify trends/outliers in order to provide recommendations
• Prepares and reviews inter-company transactions
• Directly responsible for researching and resolving issues working in collaboration with the appropriate accounting and operations staff as required
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings
• Participate in year-end audit
• Perform back up duties for AP, AR and Payroll when required
• Submit recommendations for improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency
• Track Capital Asset Purchases and record according to company policy, including depreciation schedules
• Actively promote and engage in superior customer service
• Mentor and support the accounting staff
• Support Assistant Controller and Controller with other projects and reports as needed

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to develop complex Excel spreadsheets.
• Ability to deliver effective results
• Must be proficient in problem-solving techniques and time management skills with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, well organized, ability to prioritize and meet assigned deadlines.
• This position requires balancing priorities and making sound decisions within the established policy
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to improve processes and systems
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Positive, respectful, and professional attitude toward customers, employees, vendors, and management with a strong aptitude for learning and growth.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• 5 Years of Experience
