Responsibilities:

The Community Outreach and Education Coordinator provides training, community building, education, outreach and communications expertise to Palm Beach County’s Network of Recovery Community Organizations (RCO) and allied Recovery Community Centers (RCC), referred to as Network. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and execute a coordinated and organized CCAR’s Recovery Coach Academy curriculum and training program.
• Provide community outreach services to engage recovery populations and allies as well as educate about Network services.
• Schedule and attend community event in order to educate community members about recovery.
• Promote the Network throughout Palm Beach County through speaking engagements at community and governmental meetings in order to develop and foster networking relationships with community and support resources.
• Manage all Network communications efforts through various media outlets, real time updates, published consistent and original content.
• Organize special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives.
• Assist with local trainings/events related to RCO activities at RCC level.
• Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
• Build and document relationships directed at the development of authentic recovery leadership.

Experience and Skills:

• Demonstrated community building/engagement, leadership development, networking and collaboration skills are a must.
• Full integration into professional life of Recovery Community Authentic Voice as a core principle.
• Adherence to core recovery values as outlined by Association of Recovery Community Organizations, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and other recovery organizations.
• Training experience.
• Ability to plan, organize, document and keep detailed records.
• Strong group management and service contract reporting.
• Familiarity with and utilization of Recovery Capital Indexing and Recovery Planning development.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $17.87 - $21.52 per hour
