The Evergreen Packaging Plant City Carton Converting Facility is located in Plant City, Florida, less thanan hour outside Tampa and its amenities and beautiful beaches. Opened in 1992 and expanded in 1998 with 195 team members, the facility prints and die cuts refrigerated gable top cartons for a variety of global brands found in retail groceries throughout the US.

Responsibilities
Purpose of the job:
The Production Manager is responsible for all Manufacturing processes, to include Purchasing, Printing, Sealing, Scheduling and Maintenance Support to ensure a safe environment, efficient operations, and quality product meets customer needs. Facility Leadership: the Production Team Leader is also the acting Facility Manager in the absence of the Manager.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Purchasing: Manage the capital and repair process to include five year planning, justification, submittals and implementation. Review and approve all purchases for the facility, from spare parts, varnish, rollers, to office supplies to meet or exceed budget.Printing: Manage five high speed Komori Chambon offset printing presses with automatic splicers, six print units, a coating unit, a gravure unit, electron beam dryer, rotary die scoring and cutting and automated deliveries. Lead and support the printing Boundary Manager in hiring, training, and developing the printing team and three salary Team Leaders in order to print quality product in a safe Ensure that standards are met or exceeded in waste, safety, quality and utilization. All crews are required to conduct weekly crew meeting and observations.Sealing: Manage six high-speed flame sealers with automatic feeders, skivers, packers, palletizers and stretch wrappers. Lead and support the Boundary Manager with hiring, training and developing the sealing team and three hourly Process Leaders in sealing quality product in a safe manner. Insure that standards are met or exceeded in waste, safety, quality and utilization. All crews are required to conduct weekly crew meeting and observations.Scheduling: Responsible for scheduling equipment to meet customer orders, Preventative Maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and process improvements to Ensure machine utilization meets or exceeds budget and customer satisfaction is exceeded. Work with the Production Scheduler, Customer Service, and Maintenance to facilitate all activities to meet or budgeted goals.Maintenance: Work directly with the Maintenance Coordinator on interviewing, hiring, planning, scheduling and training in support of the Maintenance Team. Ensure that equipment is inspected biweekly and repaired on a biweekly schedule. Manage the In Plant Stores spare parts contractor to Ensure availability of critical spares.Human Resources: Determine the staffing levels and Ensure that all required teams are hired, trained and developed to support the manufacturing operation. Ensure that the biweekly plant Team Meetings are planned, scheduled, and conducted on a timely manner. Work effectively with HR to maintain union-free statusEnsure that all requirements of the SQF Code are being administered and adhered to.Responsible for duties listed on GP-PLC-FRM-0005, as required. Ensure adequate resources are available to support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF systemEnsure the integrity of the SQF SystemCommunicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF systemTo undertake operational duties as required to meet deadlines and/or cover for staff absence, filling gaps in resources in all areasChecking the suitability and quality of materials and all print operations during the production process through to the final quality check and dispatch.To review and make recommendations to ensure that operations run effectively.To work closely with HR to produce and review individual/team performance. Providing information and commentary on a regular basis.Oversee the evaluation, training and development of all Printing Team Members to enhance career goals, retention, succession planning and performance improvement.Ensure effective implementation and on-going compliance with Pactiv Evergreen Quality Management System (QMS)Provide products and services that consistently meet the mutually agreed upon specifications of both our internal and external customers.Involve team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities throughout the business.Responsible for providing resources and tools necessary for the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems.Provide leadership and direction for achieving quality improvement by interpreting policy, recommending strategies, organizing resources, and assisting leaders in the development and implementation of improvement plans.Produce safe, quality products that comply with all applicable federal, state, and international laws, regulations, and guidelines. Compliance will be assured by internal and external, third party audits and product testing.Participate in the yearly HAACP reviewParticipate in monthly food safety internal auditsQualifications
Qualifications:
Education, Skills and/or Experience Required:
- 4 year degree in Bus Admin, Manufacturing, Engineering Paper Science or related field and/or equivalent experience. Technical Undergraduate Degree preferred.
- 4 total years of experience in Leadership roles within a manufacturing environment including
Direct first-line leadership responsibility for hourly teamsManagement of Lead Managers experience and skills - Organizational design, LEAN and Business planning skills

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
