Lead Extruder Operator

Responsibilities

Summary: Responsible for Extrusion and Unadyn processing and staff throughout shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Set up extrusion machine by inputting information into a computer console, set roll gaps to precise sizes, and ensures quality control is production grade.
• Monitor all extrusion machines to make sure that all working parts are in alignment.
• Troubleshoots all areas of the extrusion and Unadyn process.
• Check extrusion/unadyn paper work for any errors. Input pounds produced into SAP.
• Monitors and controls extrusion blends along with raw material usage.
• Regulates rate of extrusion to prevent metal rupture and adherence of metal to container walls.
• Check unadyn visual charts, troubleshoot any process changes.
• Works with Shift Supervisor to assure proper manning is used and managed.
• Ensures that all safety rules are followed and enforced.
• Works with shift Supervisor to investigate injury/quality incidents and helps to prepare reports. Submits findings and preventive measures.
• Overtime coverage as needed on other shifts.
• Drives Lean process to the floor level.
• Meets or exceeds standards in the department.
• Input recipes and calibrate NDC scanners.
• Responsible for cascading Safety down to the floor level with support of shift supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned.

120 miles southeast of Columbus, OH and approximately 150 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, PA, Mineral wells, also known as Mineral Wells, is a census-designated place in Wood County, West Virginia. It is part of the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,950 at the 2010 census.

The plant became a Pactiv facility in 2010 through acquisition and was formerly a PWP facility that started in Mineral Wells in 2003. The facility is part of the Food Merchandising Business Unit and manufactures clear and black APET product that supplies food packaging to Pactiv's retail customers. The employee population is approximately 200.
