Responsibilities

Capital Project Manager

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen.

The ideal candidate should have 7-10 years of experience with facilities capital projects and site construction for industrial warehouse and distribution center environments. Inclusive to the position is the use of appropriate engineering concepts, project management techniques, Supply Chain engineering and analytical tools to execute projects that satisfy internal and external client requirements.

Pactiv Evergreen corporate headquarters is located in Lake Forest, IL just outside Chicago. This position will involve local travel to support our large concentration of distribution centers in the Chicagoland area but will also travel and support other facilities and projects and vendors in other domestic locations. Up to 40% travel can be expected

**Candidates may also live near Canandaigua, New York as well. Either Chicago area or Canandaigua, NY area.

The position will focus on:

• Internal and external facility improvements
• Site Security infrastructure and Safety considerations
• Facility equipment
• Power and safety needs for forklifts, automation, material handling equipment
• New building set up
• Lease Capital Improvements

The ideal candidate will live in the greater Chicago, IL area.

Responsibilities:

• Research, develop, plan, budget, implement and complete projects that improve, optimize or sustain warehousing locations.
• Identify security equipment including cameras, communication, fencing, lighting and all other warehouse related technology that could be used to improve operations.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and construction contracting companies.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with plant and facility leaders to create strategic plans, budgets, facility and project improvement plans.
• Familiarity with automation and mobile equipment. This position will work closely with the Automation Engineering team on building set up and coordination with automation projects.
• Work with vendors and engineering partners to identify operational equipment, build business cases, recommends new warehouse/distribution center technologies.
• Work with Pactiv Evergreen management and staff to develop project and equipment analysis, recommendations and selection.
• Work as a Liaison between Distribution Operations, Engineering, IT and our Solutions and Equipment suppliers; maintain and develop internal and external customer relationships.
• Provide insight into current processes and functions that affect our direct and indirect operating costs.
• Act as a subject matter expert on facilities, equipment, and site expansions/construction.
• Comply with and foster the Pactiv Evergreen corporate safety requirements.
• Monitor projects to ensure designed goals accomplish stated objectives.
• Utilize project management and engineering tools to successfully deliver projects.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships through design, scheduling, permitting, installation, commissioning, punch lists, etc.
• Validate all equipment installation and function, including necessary reviews of material handling and facilities equipment.
• Effectively communicate relevant information to Engineering and Operations leadership.
• Provide ROI analysis for all assigned/approved projects.
• Adhere to budget, schedule, design and coordinate a wide variety of logistics improvement projects
• Provide technical oversite and ongoing support.
• Help establish appropriate metrics and reports

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related experience.
• Experience in warehousing and distribution center environments.
• 7-10 years of experience in multi-facility distribution operations preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; demonstrates the ability to work well with a variety of individuals and/or lead teams of multiple disciplines.
• Ability to view, critique, recommend, and understand CAD drawings.
• Experienced in warehouse data analytics, high analytical ability, skilled at analyzing and summarizing data, and the ability to clearly communicate, both written and verbally.
• Previous experience with multiple types of material handling equipment and storage and retrieval systems is a plus.
• Travel up to 40%

The compensation range is specific to this remote position and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $99,000.00 to $165,000.00.
