We are actively recruiting for an experienced Procurement Specialist. This position requires a dynamic individual, who enjoys working in an environment that encourages developing relationships with our participants and their caregivers, where a team focused approach to care is the cornerstone of our organization.

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for activities related to purchasing, tracking DME inventory and incoming deliveries. Communication with various departments is vital to make sure the needs of the participants are met.

High organizational skills and able to think out of the box mentality is crucial to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining purchasing policies and ensure compliance requirements are met
• Work with Pace leadership and internal constituents to develop accurate specifications, timing, and requirements for DME (equipment, products, and materials) purchasing needed
• Assisting with training, coaching, and motivating employees to ensure adherence with purchasing procedures
• Partner with reliable vendors and suppliers; maintain ethical business relationships
• Consults with department personnel on procurement needs and provides technical and other assistance to ensure participants receive necessary goods and services as required.
• Ordering, tracking and communication with all departments on delivery status.
• Assist Finance Lead with all departmental projects
• Assist in the preparation of requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance
• Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions
• All other duties as assigned to assist with claims processing and to support contractual discussions within finance
• Administrative support of Finance Department
• Abides by all established PACE of Southwest Michigan policies, rules, and regulations
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Specifications 

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred or equivalent with a minimum of three (2) years previous medical office experience.

Experience: At least 2 years of medical billing and purchasing or related experience. Experience with Excel and EMR (electronic medical record) programs also required. Previous health care experience required.

Special Training: Only acts within scope of practice. Meet a standardized set of orientation and/or individual competencies for the specific position description established by PACE of Southwest Michigan.

Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact.

Specific Requirements and Considerations: May be subject to exposure and handling of infectious waste, diseases, conditions, or hazardous chemicals, etc., including potential exposure to TB, AIDS, and/or Hepatitis B.
