Location: 3130 General Hudnell Dr, San Antonio, Texas 78226

Position Description: The IT Security Compliance Administrator ensures compliance with enterprise information assurance and security standards. Plans and manages technical projects, drives initiatives for improvement, and acts as a resource for other team members. This position is a hybrid with both regular onsite reporting to provide coverage for Tier 2 and remote working.

Minimum/General Experience: 3 years of experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows systems administration

Minimum Education: High School; 8570 Compliance IAT Level II (Security CE certification) or higher (required); Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) 2012/2016 (preferred)

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent experience with encryption and key management
  • Excellent experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Excellent experience with endpoint security products (e.g., Bitlocker, Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM))
  • Excellent and advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of day-to-day administrative support for vendor product with understanding of various Windows Server/Desktop platforms
  • Experience with Data At Rest (DAR) solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft workstation and server operating systems, configuration, and security and Microsoft Office Automation tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Excellent ability to drive tasks and priorities for overlapping projects and meeting deadlines in a consistent, complete, accurate, and timely manner
  • Excellent ability to maintain a courteous, professional manner with clients and staff at all times
  • Excellent ability to work well under stress
  • Ability to be on-call 24x7 support for a session quarterly
  • Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) (preferred)
  • Knowledge and willingness to learn Tanium, Group Policy, Active Directory, VMWare, Server 2012 & 2016, Windows 10, Windows 11, SolarWinds, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and other various applications and tools

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Clearance - Public Trust Tier 3 Investigation

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident

DoD Clearance Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:

  • Covers 5-10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
  • OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
  • DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
  • National Agency Check (NAC) records
  • FBI name check
  • FBI fingerprint check
  • Credit report check
  • A check of local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over the areas where the applicant has lived, worked, or attended school
  • Education check- Attendance and Degrees
  • Employment verification -may include interviews of supervisors and/or co-workers
  • Corroboration of unemployment.
  • May include reference interviews
  • May include interviews of the individual, former spouse (s)
  • Confirmation of all residences
  • Verification of public record information

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of DHA information and information systems
  • Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of policies
  • Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands
  • Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements
  • Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which include servers and workstations
  • Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution
  • Proactively identifies new regulations and lead projects within Compliance team
  • Owns the remediation and communication of high priority/critical/complex issues
  • Makes necessary escalations to management in timely fashion proactively and reactively
  • Identifies and executes process improvements and other enhancements that improve operational efficiency
  • Creates and maintains documentation to help train employees resolve day to day issues and knowledge transfer
  • Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure
  • Performs System/Server monitoring, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA)/information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM) tracking, vulnerability management, Image creation/update, partial support for DAR (BitLocker) over multiple domains
  • Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems
  • Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
  • Applies operating system (OS) patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities
  • Participates in the change management process ensuring that all releases are compliant with security standards
  • Upgrades and configures system software
  • Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization
  • Configures CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
  • Reviews systems for critical updates on a weekly basis, or each time a major threat is announced to align security standards
  • Must participate in on-call afterhours rotation session to respond to failures or performance/installation tasks quarterly
