About Outreach Community Health Centers
Located on the north side of Milwaukee, Outreach Community Health Centers (OCHC) is focused on providing high quality healthcare to all individuals in the Milwaukee community regardless of insurance status. OCHC’s services include adult and family primary care, chronic disease management, women/prenatal health, behavioral health, dentistry, podiatry, case management, homeless services and pharmacy through the federal 340-B program. As a 501c3 nonprofit community health center, services are provided to underserved and low-income residents in Milwaukee, WI. Last year, OCHC served 7,000 patients from children to adults. Of these patients, a third were uninsured, over a third were covered by Medicaid, and more than 20% were homeless at some point during the year. Almost 65% of OCHC’s patients are members of racial or ethnic minority groups.
The CEO Opportunity
OCHC is seeking a servant-leader for the role of CEO, who desires to serve the Milwaukee community by confidently leading OCHC in its delivery of whole person health care. Having successfully adapted and increased its capacity to deliver quality care over the past year during the pandemic, OCHC is looking ahead and planning for additional growth in patient numbers, integration of behavioral health into primary care and expansion into targeted areas of the community. Eventually plans will include the addition of a mobile health unit and development of a dedicated space for their dental program.
The selected CEO will provide thoughtful and strategic leadership for the overall management of OCHC, including the following areas: Financial Services, Clinical Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Risk Management, Case Management, Managed Care Services, Quality Improvement, Marketing, and Fundraising.
Performance will be measured throughout the first year through a lens of financial growth, and success will be marked by short- and long-term performance expectations including visionary and strategic leadership, partnership and community building, operational capacity and service delivery and administration and financial management.
Position Requirements
• A minimum of 7 years of healthcare leadership experience, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the medical, financial, and administrative duties involved in directing the operations of an FQHC or ambulatory care center.
• Demonstrated experience preparing an organization to enter a growth stage and in successfully providing steadfast leadership during transition.
• Embraces and personifies the mission and core values of Outreach Community Health Centers.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including the Board, partner medical organizations, church congregations, and community members
• Ability to speak persuasively, effectively, and credibly about OCHC and its mission of whole person health care.
• Prior experience working in a multi-cultural setting
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or other related area required; master's degree preferred. Will consider a combination of applicable experience and education.
