Outpost Natural Foods is Hiring a Part-time Human Resources Generalist (Hybrid Role) Near Milwaukee, WI

TITLE: HumanResources Generalist DEPARTMENT: Human Resources STATUS: Part-Time,At-Will, Hourly REPORTS TO: Director of HR JOB SUMMARY: Toensure the highest level of service possible to Outpost’s internal and externalcustomers. The HR Generalist assists with theadministration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs forthe Central Office and multi-site retail grocery/kitchen operations. The HR Generalist provides human resources support within: employeerelations and retention including supporting diversity, equity and inclusion programming(20%), health and welfare benefits administration (20%), talent acquisition andstaffing (15%), payroll (10%), training and development (10%), employment recordkeeping,compliance and HRIS administration (10%), project management/improvementinitiatives (10%), and safety and health (5%). ***Percentages of work time are approximations and vary based on need. WORKENVIRONMENT: Business office withmoderate noise environment including but not limited to: computers, printers,paging, telephones, and human voices. Abilityto work remotely intermittently if desired. Intermittent job-related travelwithin metro Milwaukee area. ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITES: 1. Customer Service Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect. Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards. 2. Human Resources Department Responsibilities EmployeeRelations and Retention Counsel and provide guidance to management and/or associates on employee relations issues and company policies, practices, and procedures. Conduct investigations of employee complaints/grievances/violation of business ethics and code of conduct policies. Participate in Employee Forums to elicit employee feedback and opportunities for improvement. Partner with management in the identification of engagement problems and assists with the development of meaningful action plans to resolve/enhance the work environment and drive productivity. Diversity,Equity and Inclusion Work in partnership with HR Director to execute and support a comprehensive DEI strategy. Develop and implement DEI focused programs, resource groups and other initiatives to support a culture that is diverse, inclusive and creates a sense of belonging. Establish metrics and analyze trends, raising awareness and ensuring internal practices support to accelerate change. Healthand Welfare Benefits Administration Ensure timely communication, education, and assist with enrollment of employee’s in Outpost Natural Foods insurance benefits and programs. Act as resource to staff in regard to benefits and insurance related questions and problems. Act as liaison between broker insurance representative and insurance company for Outpost Natural Foods. Manage FMLA, leaves of absence, and ADA accommodation processing and monitoring. Trainingand Development Facilitate employee and leadership training sessions. Manage assimilation of/coaching and training process for new salaried Managers. Coordinate and assist with development of training programs. Develop and implement DEI training and awareness programs, ensuring employee and leader compliance with training requirements. Facilitate New Hire Orientation in absence of Recruitment and Retention Specialist. HRISadministration and Payroll Process and audit employee paperwork (New hire, W-4, I-9, EEO, etc.) in a timely manner and according to applicable laws. Entry, verification and maintenance of employment information in Dayforce HR system. Process payroll intermittently as back-up. Government Compliance and Record Keeping Ensure compliance with insurance contracts, federal, state, and local legal requirements Maintain up to date knowledge of existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising Director of Human Resources on needed actions. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as legal requirements. Maintain employee benefits records. Maintain up-to-date and legally appropriate personnel files for current and past employees. Ensure compliance to Outpost record retention and destruction policies. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. ProjectManagement/Improvement Initiatives Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action. Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information, and completing by the deadline to accomplish the objectives. Enhance department and organization by leading HR process improvement initiatives, special projects, and training initiatives. Safetyand Health Partner with managers in handling and processing of worker’s compensation claims to expedite a return to work where appropriate. Ensure timely communication and post-accident follow-up with the employee and manager. Maintain and complete annual OSHA 300 logs and reporting. TalentAcquisition and Staffing Represent HR and company at career fairs and other recruiting events. Work in collaboration with Recruitment and Retention Specialist to support a talent strategy that attracts and retains diverse talent. Back-up support for Recruitment and Retention Specialist. AllHuman Resources Staff Assist other HR staff in completing their duties. Replenish HR supplies as needed. Keep human resources files and procedures neat and organized. Furnish information regarding employees to authorized sources including reference requests. Maintain human resources forms on employee portal. Participate in annual HR audits. Attend HR department meetings. 3. All Staff Duties Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents. Keep store/office orderly and clean. Maintain a positive attitude. Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Human Resources. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ABILITIES: Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Human Resources, Business, or other related field or equivalent work experience Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative HR function/support role Experience in a multi-site, retail, and/or union experience preferred Experience with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and/or initiatives preferred Ability to effectively present information/good presentation skills Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws Experience with HRIS or HRMS system administration Ability to effectively communicate in English with good interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint including strong typing skills Attention to detail and good organizational skills Ability to handle multiple demands, work under time pressures, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment· Ability to exercise discretion and independentjudgment in the performance of responsibilities Willingness to be open, to learn, and take on new responsibilities Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to read and comprehend instructions· Demonstrate objectivity, neutrality, andcalmness Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness ESSENTIAL PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: Bending, sitting, reaching Using hands or fingers to handle or feel Specific vision ability: close vision, distance vision, and adjust focus Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
