OTIS is Hiring a Cycle Counter Near Florence, SC
Date Posted: 2023-08-30 Country: United States of America Location: OT541: TFP - Florence, SC 1500 Otis Way, Florence, SC, 29501 USA Job Overview: The responsibility of the Cycle Counter is to receive the material from the supplier using the DSI scanner. The Cycle Counter must have complete knowledge and be able to perform all functions in the DSI scanner as well as operate all material handling equipment. The Cycle Counter will load and unload trailers following all safety and CTPAT guidelines. The Cycle Counter will identify any discrepancies and work with the Buyer to resolve the issue. This position will require completion of all logs and tracking tools (CTPAT log, Hot Parts board, trailer inspections, seal log,etc). The Cycle Counter will receive and verify all LTL shipments (UPS, Fed EX, XPO, etc). The Cycle Counter will also complete the Put Away Function for the department and be the lead in resolving material discrepancies. The Cycle Counter will have complete knowledge of all functions of the department and perform all skills of the Material Handler I, II, and III. Will train employees and fill in as required in any role. Job Responsibilities: Receive all inbounds, LTL and supplies using JDE and the DSI scanner. Report all variances to the Buyer immediately and complete the required logs. Notify all recipients of material/supplies received. Put away material received into the warehouse racking and transfer excess to the offsite warehouse within 24 hours of receipt. Resolve inventory variance issues, correct negatives, and complete cycle counts on bays. Complete damage shipment logs and provide documentation to the logistics team and the buyer planner. Critical Skills/Knowledge: Material Handling Practices- Knowledge of loading and unloading trucks, flatbeds, straight trucks. Knowledge of proper material storage. PIV- Otis certified to operate Sit down lift, stand up reach trucks, tugger, scissor lift. DSI- Complete knowledge of the main scripts for the warehouse/receiving operations. Warehousing- Ability to cycle count, complete inventory transfers, store product by line and location, and kit according to picklist. Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools (Banding machine, strap, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Reading Comprehension - Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. Qualifications: Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED. Preferred Education: High School Minimum Experience: 2-3 years experience in PIV Operation, Warehousing, and Shipping and Receiving. Preferred Experience: 3 years warehouse experience in a pick/pack operation, 3 years experience with warehouse management systems (DSI/JDE). Ability to follow procedures and work instructions that include EH&S, quality policies, PIV, and General Cardinal Rules Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Proactively participate in ACE; including submitting turn backs to supervisor, assist in providing appropriate solutions for QCPC data, and keeping area of responsibility up to 5s standards. Partner with and support Operations as required, including attending daily morning meeting for operations and EHS. Complete necessary reports needed for inventory storage, pick list, productivity, damaged material, nonconforming material, CTPAT logs and trailer entry permit in the receiving and shipping operation Attend the necessary meeting for operation, safety, communication, etc PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 35 lbs. If item weighs more than 35 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises. Must be able to stand up to 10 hours a day Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception. Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, and to cope with stress, and repetitive tasks and be able to self-inspect and take responsibility for quality of own work Working at heights of 24 feet may be required.
