Talent Acquisition Specialist- Oswego Health

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for providing a superior candidate experience throughout the full lifecycle recruiting process. Screening applicants, complete background checks, verify credentials, and collect employment paperwork. Providing a pro-active support to hiring managers will be a key function of this role. Position requires occasional off hours and travel to job fairs and educational facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Creatively source and attract qualified candidates for all roles using strategic recruiting methods.
  • Builds and maintains talent pipeline.
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to match staffing needs and goals in a fast paced environment.
  • Collaborate with Administration and Managers to implement solutions for urgent and critical staffing needs.
  • Strategically assist hiring managers and HR to identify and clarify job specifications to effectively source the best pool of candidates.
  • Maintains the Employment section of Oswego Health’s website and posts open positions onto authorized recruitment websites as directed.
  • Collaborates with Marketing related to branding and employment advertising.
  • Administration and maintenance of applicant tracking system. 
  • Arranges employment interviews with hiring managers when necessary.
  • Identify closing strategies for offers and pro-actively provide candidates (external and internal) with information to make their decision as easy as possible. Refer internal candidates to Employee Experience Manager when necessary for career development purposes.
  • Secures candidate references, complete background checks, and/or fingerprinting, verify credentials.
  • Initiates and collects employment paperwork ensuring the completion of the new hire documentation and compliance with NYSDOH, Joint Commission and applicable law. Maintain and enter relevant employment contracts in Contract Insight.
  • Assist current employees with internal bidding process.
  • Maintains confidential information related to staff, hospital, physicians and patients.
  • Assists HR Operations Manager, Employee Experience Manager and other HR teammates when necessary.
  • Coordinates, welcomes and guides new employees during the new hire process and partner with Employee Experience Manager to provide the best experience for the new employee during the orientation process. Collaborates with hiring managers to ensure completion of department orientation as needed.
  • Annually reviews procedures manual and implements changes as necessary.
  • Creates and distributes identification badges ensuring appropriate door access for employees.
  • Perform analysis of time to fill, time to hire, source of hire, percent of open positions, and recruitment source effectiveness as requested. Provides Turnover reporting quarterly to management.
  • Prepare reports, documents and provides data as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all patient, hospital, employee, and physician information.
  • Maintains the Oswego Health Recruiters email.
  • Works cooperatively with members of Human Resources team to accomplish individual, departmental and organization goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience and SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • 5-7 years of high volume recruiting in healthcare preferred.
