Phlebotomist -4 DAY WORK WEEK

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm

This position will be a cross-trained position with Medical Assisting.

Description: This position works closely with patients and their clinical teams.

• Ensure patients have a positive experience during their visit, whether in-person, Telehealth and/or over the phone.
• Communicate regularly with clinical staff to ensure patients in the office needs are met. Collaborate with team to create a positive patient experience.
• Greet patients and complete established check in procedures according to check in protocols. Responsible for registration, entry of patient information and insurance verification.
• Collect co-pays/co-insurance/deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Responsible for checking patients out and scheduling follow up appointments and communicating necessary items at time of checkout.
• Answer phone calls and email inquiries from patients in a timely manner, direct or escalate inquiries when needed. Contact patients for appointment reminders or scheduling purposes.
• Complete clerical task including but not limited to distributing mail and report, filing, scanning, scheduling, data input, management of electronic fax inbox and general support to all office personnel.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient data and stay up to date with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform venipuncture
• Label and process any and all specimens
• Verify Lab Orders
• Order Lab Supplies 
• Recording vital signs, rooming, administering injections, assisting with procedures, documenting in the EHR, draw blood, prepare requisitions and specimens for transport, printing documents for patients from chart, electronically sending patient's questions or concerns to the doctor through the EHR, maintaining lab information and an adequate amount of lab supplies, maintaining cleanliness in the treatment area.
• Need to be able to provide EXCELLENT Bedside manners / customer service, and provide overall support for physicians and office operations. Must be computer literate as we operate paperless and chart electronically.

• Strong knowledge of HIPPA guidelines, understanding of patient privacy, and the ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently in a team environment, and able to lead by example.
• Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office, and understanding of electronic health record (EHR).
