OrthoIllinois is Hiring a MRI Technologist Near Rockford, IL

Job Purpose:

The MRI Technologist is responsible for safely operating the MRI scanner and providing high quality imaging and information for patient diagnosis. The MRI Technologist is also responsible for documenting all procedures while maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates equipment for imaging and provides high quality imaging and information for patient diagnosis
  • Prepares patients for scans and explains the procedure to help them feel comfortable
  • Ensures patients stay calm and receive the best care possible by using tact, courtesy, and poise
  • Documents all billing information and sends imaging to the Radiologist for a professional reading
  • Communicates effectively with other health care professionals to ensure effective and efficient communication
  • Troubleshoots peripheral equipment and scanner issues to ensure that the equipment is operating properly to avoid downtime or delays that affect patient satisfaction
  • Provides training to new technologists with regular checks, direction, and qualified work samples
  • Handles high-stress environments and situations in a calm manner when dealing with patients, technicians, and physicians

  • Initiative / Independence: Works independently with little needed direction taking responsibility for own time and effectiveness. Proactively recognizes opportunities to contribute, recommends and implements process improvements
  • Teamwork: Actively works with others towards shared goal. Encourages co-operation. Aware of the needs of others and responds flexibly. Shares information and supports other team members. Seeks opportunities to develop others
  • Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently
  • Adaptability: Maintains composure in a fast-paced environment, managing changing priorities and adjusting response appropriately to achieve goals; responds to change with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • One year of experience preferred
  • Current American Registry Radiologic Technologist License (ARRT) IL state License with IDNS
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft and Google suites

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Working environment is in an office/clinic setting. Consistent work hours outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
