OrthAlign Inc. is Hiring a Software Engineer I Near Aliso Viejo, CA
OrthAlign, Inc., a Smart Technologies, growing medical device company, has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer I responsible for the design and development of handheld navigation software for OrthAlign products. This is a challenging role comprised of a broad range of responsibilities. You will be working in the engineering and operations department to continually improve our cutting edge, portable, surgical navigation system product line. You will also develop new technologies and products for a rapidly growing industry. As new features and products are added, you will be asked to define and develop overall solutions. This role works with technologies such as sensors, Bluetooth, the Android Operating System, native Android app development, and navigation algorithms.
You will:
- Identify and implement new designs for our products
- Implement software and firmware changes and design improvements into our products
- Document engineering work in compliance with our Quality System
- Assess failure modes and conduct technical risk analysis of field product issues
- Provide engineering support for ongoing production
You need:
- A BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar degree
- Experience with Android mobile development (required)
- Experience writing and debugging top level source code (required)
- Experience with Java, Jetpack, Espresso, LiveData (preferred)
- Experience with MVVM architecture (preferred)
- Experience with iOT devices, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (preferred)
- Experience with sensors such as accelerometers, optical sensors, encoders (preferred)
- Understanding of software development cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a collaborative team member as well as independently
- Passionate about making real world contributions to the healthcare system
