Orleans Parish Communication District is Hiring a Director of Support Services Near New Orleans, LA

Job Title: Director of Support Services

Bureau: Support Services

Reports To: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $85k - $95k

OPEN UNTIL FILLED (First Application Review will be Monday, October 3rd, 2022)

*This position is designated as Essential and Emergency Personnel and will be required to report for duty during declared emergencies of any size. Failure to report could result in immediate dismissal.

Job Purpose/Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Executive Director and as a member of the command staff, the Director of Support Services has responsibility for operations of the finance, human resources and facilities departments. Providing daily supervision for the three managers of those departments, the Director of Support Services manages capital projects and is the official liaison between OPCD and state/federal emergency management agencies as it relates to reimbursements for declared emergencies. In close coordination with this Executive Director, this role is responsible for formulating and managing the agency’s budget, approves purchases, as well as providing counsel on personnel matters and external audits.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing human resources and finance functions
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check and receive clearance from the Louisiana State Police.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a closely related field
  • Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE)
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a government agency.
  • Experience managing requests under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
