The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides innovative, quality care for cosmetic and plastic surgery needs while simultaneously training surgeons to become experts in the field. Its faculty are specialists in their practice, including breast reconstruction, hand surgery, pediatric cleft and craniofacial surgery, gender affirming surgery and microsurgery. The team of eight plastic surgeons, led by Division Chief Juliana Hansen, M.D., sponsors a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency program and hand surgery fellowship program.
The OHSU Department of Surgery has a unique opportunity to work in the Research Lab of Dr. Geolani Dy, where our primary objective is creating innovative, equity-focused research to improve experiences and outcomes of gender-affirming surgery for trans and gender-diverse communities.

As Research Project Manager, you will be a vital member of a multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians, biostatisticians, analysts, qualitative scientists, as well as grant administrators. Dr. Dy has multiple active projects that broadly address gender-affirming surgery access and outcomes. This role will be initially focused to support the STRIVE Study and TRANS Registry, with opportunities to grow into other projects in subsequent years. Support for Transgender and Nonbinary Individuals Seeking Vaginoplasty (STRIVE) Study is a national pragmatic randomized trial testing the effectiveness of peer support in vaginoplasty preparation. The TRANS (Transgender and Non-Binary Surgery) Registry is a multi-center prospective clinical registry of vaginoplasty and vulvoplasty outcomes.
This person will report directly to Dr. Dy and the Division Manager for the Division of Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery with a dotted line to the Department of Surgery Research Administrator.
