OREGON, Portland. Oregon Health & Science University, (OHSU), is a leading health and research university that strives for excellence in patient care, education, research and community service. Casey Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at OHSU is recruiting a full-time Optometrist to work with our current group of 8 faculty and one fellow.
This position will join an established and highly regarded University-based practice with clinical, research and educational responsibilities, and will hold an academic appointment. The group practice consists of 8 optometrists and 56 ophthalmologists offering sub-specialty services in cornea, vitreoretinal disease, ophthalmic pathology and oncology, uveitis and ocular immunology, glaucoma, oculoplastics, neuro-ophthalmology, low vision and ophthalmic genetics.
Conducts medical and vision evaluations of patients at Casey Eye Institute. Duties include providing routine eye examinations, contact lens services, pre-and post-operative assessments of laser vision correction patients, prescribing glasses, and performing related eye care services. Documents patient findings in the medical record per OHSU and CEI procedures and guidelines and communicates findings and recommendations to cornea ophthalmologists. Serves as a resource for technician staff regarding patient refractive care and evaluation. Assists with professional education events and courses presented by ophthalmologists, optometrists and other allied health professionals. Completes required documentation such as case report forms; maintains patient records.
Requires a Doctor of Optometry degree, and current Oregon licensure.
Completion of a Medical Contact Lens fellowship or Post-Graduate, Contact Lens focused training preferred.
