Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer for Developer Engagement, you will be responsible for working with the external community that is developing against Oracle Cerner's Ignite APIs for Millennium® product. The Ignite APIs for Millennium are a set of APIs based on industry definitions by HL7® (Health Level 7 International) utilizing the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) and Substitutable Medical Applications Reusable Technology (SMART®) standards. These APIs allow system integrations with the Oracle Cerner Millennium® database or web-based applications to be integrated with and launched from within Oracle Cerner's PowerChart® electronic medical record application.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills to be able to guide other people in the development of their application or integration. This includes understanding OAuth2-based authorization workflows, best practices in consuming RESTful APIs and observing and troubleshooting issues with the developer integration into the Millennium® ecosystem. Outside of working with the development community, additional time will be spent with the designing and building of reference documentation, tools, and utilities to further improve the developer experience.
Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4 years of software engineering work experience.
- Worked with scripting languages like HTML, XML and JavaScript in web development.
- Experience with building web applications
- Experience with building web services.
- Development experience with RESTful API design.
- Experience with OAuth-based authorization.
- Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to multiple stakeholders and audience types.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative and agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of HL7® Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) and Substitutable Medical Applications Reusable Technology (SMART®) standards.
- Experience with performing in a developer advocate role.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $95,900 to $192,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $77,700 to $172,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $90,600 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $93,100 to $182,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
