Job Description
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with industry leading compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.
As part of this effort, the File Storage Service team is looking for hands-on test automation engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, large scale storage, and highly available services. If this is you, you can be part of the team that drives the best-in-class File Storage Service into the next phase of its development. These are exciting times for the service - we are growing fast, and delivering on innovative, enterprise class features to satisfy the most demanding file system workloads for our customers. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact.
As a test automation engineer, you will work to automate system level tests on File Storage Service. To be successful in this position, you have a strong technical foundation, can learn new technologies quickly, show initiative, and possess excellent communication skills. You must be motivated and prepared to work both independently and cross-functionally. You will work with product development engineers to automate tests that validate File Storage at the system level. You will contribute to tools and frameworks that automate validation of tests. In doing so, you can impact the efficiency of the team and help deliver high quality features.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong Python skills
8 years of designing, developing, and executing automation scripts (ground up)
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Experience with identifying, tracking bugs, defect tracking systems
Experience with Git (or any other source code management/version control system)
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with File Storage and/or NAS protocols
Education & Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree with in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Additional Requirements (Nice to have):
Java or C Programming
Experience authoring, executing, and automating unit testing
Experience setting up and maintaining continuous integration systems
Knowledge of test-driven development

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $104,100 to $241,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $95,900 to $216,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $99,300 to $229,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $102,600 to $229,000 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
