Position Description

As a Hotel Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel. You will work closely with other departments to ensure that the hotel is safe, comfortable, and fully operational for guests. Your duties will include regular maintenance tasks, emergency repairs, and responding to guest requests in a timely and professional manner.

Roles and Responsibilities as Maintenance Technician:

  • Review buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, air filters, and smoke detectors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other hotel equipment.
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.).
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g., landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)..
  • Ensure project budget is followed
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and tools and place orders as needed.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of workshop.
  • Complete unit turns as specified in SLA.
  • Maintain grounds of property: exterior areas, pool, parking lots, and all other aspects of curb appeal.
  • Report any repair items.
  • Complete and document workorders in a timely manner.
  • Minimize recurring workorders - fix it right the first time.
  • Respond to guest requests for maintenance assistance promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks such as checking and adjusting the performance of hotel equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to maintenance and safety.
  • Assist with the implementation of energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as housekeeping and front office to ensure smooth operation of the hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or General Manager.
