Description

 Optima Office is helping our client recruit for this terrific role with their great company! 

Our client is a wholesale supplier of leading residential kitchen and laundry appliance brands. Our sales staff and estimators are well-versed in the varied requirements of new construction and rehabilitation projects. In addition to supplying the appliances, our client is licensed by the California Contractors State License Board to install them. Our installation teams have many years of experience working in condominium, apartment, single-family and mixed-use projects. We are proud to have served the building industry for over ten years in southern Nevada, and northern and southern California.

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for total oversight and management of field installation projects and employees and/or subcontractors within a specified geographical area. The Field Operations Manager acts as a liaison between the Company and multiple clients with particular focus on delivering cost-effective, timely and professional services to all end- customers. Compliance with all Company and client policies and procedures must be enforced. Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands for time is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure timely service is available to all clients; contingency planning, and ability to deal with expected or unexpected growth ramps in business
  • Conduct on-boarding discussions with newly hired employees or sub-contractors to set proper expectations
  • Maintain contact with client management in assigned geographic area and responds to inquiries in an expeditious and complete manner
  • Identify training opportunities and coach employees or sub-contractors for success
  • Conduct routine site visits, site inspections and training
  • Assist with compliance initiatives
  • Create a positive and professional work environment and lead by example
  • Assist the Project Manager in directing, monitoring and prioritizing workflow; ensure that work is being completed according to schedule
  • Handle complex problems and issues that come up during installation
  • Complete all required installation paperwork in compliance with Company protocol
  • Follow up promptly and regularly with sub-tier installation contractors
  • Regular daily travel required
  • Accept additional duties and work-related projects as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervisory responsibility of Installation Technicians and Team Leaders of sub-contractors.

Requirements

Education-Experience

  • Technical training and industry related certifications required
  • Prior electrical, installation, carpentry, plumbing experience, or technical school is a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License with a stellar driving record

Skills-Technical

  • Completion of OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Certification Courses is preferred, but not required. 
  • Participate in safety meetings, deliver safety trainings ensuring policy and procedural instructions are clear and be vigilant in the promotion of a safe working environment
  • Prior management of field service installation technicians
  • 5 years of proven successful experience in a service industry
  • Ability to travel within assigned region and to other areas as directed
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English

  • Must lead, train, motivate and coach all employees and sub-contractors that report directly to this role
  • Must be a self-motivated, customer-oriented person with excellent communication skills
  • Must be a hands-on, self-directed, organized, and conscientious individual
  • Complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player, exhibit a professional manner and establish constructive working environments
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills are required
  • Ability to incur expenses and be reimbursed by expense report submission

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

  • A valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA 10 Training Course Certification of Completion is preferred, but not required.
  • OSHA 30 Training Course Certification of Completion- is preferred, but not required. 

 Work Environment

The essential functions of the job are usually performed in an environmentally controlled facility where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may involve a combination of office and field environments.

This role may experience the following:

  • Generally visits a variety of construction sites to ensure the installation technicians are successfully performing all required tasks and deliverables
  • May be exposed to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness when in transportation or at the construction sites
  • May regularly walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
  • May have exposure to dust, gas, and/or fumes
  • May use special visual or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Will regularly climb stairs and work off elevated surfaces
  • While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to have the physical stamina to lift and/or move 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
