POSITION PURPOSE

The Software Developer is responsible for active participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities which include performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting. The position also includes providing end-user support as a member of the IT team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively collaborates with the I.T. team in identifying and meeting customer needs.
• Participate in the designing, developing, and testing process as part of the software development life cycle.
• Troubleshoot issues, document processes, and develop reference implementations.
• Provide support during deployment activities to ensure a smooth transition to go-live processes, products, or systems.
• Provide production support for business applications through end-user ticketing and monitoring applications.
• Exhibit understanding of departmental goals by appropriately prioritizing projects.
• Quickly respond to emergency situations affecting business continuity.
• Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.A. in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness and ability to gain new skills – consistently working on expanding knowledge.
• Thorough understanding of web-based technologies and standards.
• Working knowledge of SQL databases and reporting systems especially Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services.
• Practical knowledge of programming languages and markup such as C#, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
• Ability to analyze challenges and recommend effective solutions.
• Effective interaction and communication.
• Demonstrate intellectual capabilities and problem-solving skills.
