OPHTHALMIC CONSULTANTS OF BOSTON is Hiring an Optician Near Pembroke, MA

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) was established in 1969 to offer patients the highest quality eye care and laser/surgical treatment. OCB recently joined forces with Eye Health Services to become the premier eye care provider in the region with nineteen practice locations in the greater Boston area and Cape Cod. In addition, OCB has five affiliated surgery and laser centers. OCB and its affiliates employ 700 employees. The staff of 75 ophthalmologists uses the most advanced diagnostic, laser and surgical techniques available and their level of care has earned Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston a national and international reputation for excellence.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, full-time Optician in our Pembroke location.

The Optician provides excellent service to patients and coordinates all activities of the Optical Shop including:

  • Repairing, adjusting, and dispensing prescription lenses, frames and contact lenses.
  • Measuring and fitting all eyewear.
  • Taking optical measurements.
  • Interpreting prescriptions and assisting patients in selecting appropriate eyewear.
  • Coordinating billing activities and performing daily cash close and encounter form reconciliation.
  • Conducting physical inventories. Maintaining organized work environment.
  • Ordering supplies including ophthalmic and sunglass frames and accessories, contact lenses and contact lens supplies.
  • Providing guidance on cleaning and handling of eyewear.
  • Creating and maintaining efficient workflow processes to provide seamless service to patients.
  • Communicating with multiple optometrists regarding prescriptions and patient needs.
  • Maintaining knowledge of HIPAA requirement

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Opticianry or four year apprenticeship under a licensed Optician.
  • Covid Vaccine; must provide Vaccination card prior to start
  • Three years of optical experience in dispensing and optical laboratory.
  • Certificate/License: ABO Certification.
