At Open Sky, the Compliance Manager provides Open Sky team members with state compliance file support through all stages of employment and is the primary internal administrative contact for receiving and processing employee compliance documents. Other duties include HIPAA data entry and pre-audit review of clinical, medical, and admissions paperwork to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position M-F, based out of our Durango, CO office, with the potential to WFH one day a week.

Compliance Manager Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the compliance team, focusing on compliance support and other administrative needs as assigned.
  • Collect and process new-hire and rehire background check applications and provide candidates with support and information related to completing the application process.
  • Audit new-hire and rehire employee files, ensuring HR onboarding paperwork has been completed and/or received and facilitating the collection of required signatures.
  • Track background check approval and address rejected applications. Upload approved applications and document them in data management system.
  • Support the employee offboarding process and ensure state compliance is maintained by terminating background check process.
  • Track and collect compliance paperwork for current employees and independent contractors. 
  • Communicate with other departments regarding compliance status of team members, including compliance-related work restrictions and full clearance. 
  • Serve as compliance liaison between field department leadership and human resources department. 
  • Handle HIPAA and incident management data entry.
  • Schedule annual fire and health inspections and administer related paperwork for both base camp locations.
  • Conduct pre-audit compliance review of admissions, clinical, and medical paperwork.

Compensation:

$24.00 - $28.84

Requirements

Education

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Experience

  • 2 years of administrative experience in an office environment. 
  • Medical field compliance, administrative, or accounting experience (preferred)

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to hear and talk with other people in person and using phone and radio. Must be able to use office technology including a computer and related equipment. Must be able to spend long periods standing, bending, and walking, and must be able to use stairs frequently.

Work Environment

Work is performed in office and outdoor settings with frequent interaction with other people. Employee may be exposed to environmental conditions such as extreme weather, noise, and vibration, and employee may be exposed to infectious diseases. Work involves functioning in narrow aisles or passageways. Employee will be working with students who have acute mental, emotional, and behavioral healthcare needs. Employee may drive and ride in Open Sky vehicles in support of program activities.
