We are looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to join us on this journey and help build the future of outdoor cooking. Our team is growing fast, but we’re also investing in infrastructure to build a truly world class Industrial design studio here in Scotland. This is a huge opportunity to join a highly motivated team of design and engineering professionals creating great products, great culture and of course, great pizza.

The job:

• You will create the future of outdoor cooking. Your creativity will help us expand the awesome Ooni range of pizza ovens, but we won't be stopping there!
• You’ll be instrumental in the product development cycle - you will help build a vision for the future of our products through a deep understanding of our markets and our customers with a focus on user centric research, insight and ideation.
• You’ll be reporting to the Head of Product Design and work closely with the rest of our Product Development team, your job is to champion the product vision! You will be working with our Product Managers, Engineers, Modelmakers, Senior management team as well as with external partners around the world.
• You will be the lead designer on multiple projects at any one time. You’ll be involved from end-to-end across multiple projects, from concept through to manufacture and launch. 
• You will be a senior voice in shaping the product direction, ensuring that the products we design build upon our visual design language and take us on exciting new routes forward. 
• You will push the boundaries and innovate.

We Need:

• Experience in a senior role as a creative industrial designer with the ability to manage the design process and inspire the team around you.
• Proven experience creating hard good consumer products.
• User centric, experience first focus, always. 
• Relevant industry experience working in-house or within a consultancy environment with a great understanding of product design fundamentals.
• Experience managing the process taking products from concept to mass manufacture with a great understanding of manufacturing processes to inform your design approach. 
• Excellent verbal and visual presentation skills, including hand and digital sketching.

• Aptitude for creative functional problem-solving with a great eye for product aesthetics.
• Ability and drive to get hands on with prototypes and adapt and react to enhance the product experience.
• Great communication and presentation skills. The ability to communicate effectively with the product and engineering teams and to engage with external suppliers and manufacturers both in the UK and internationally.
• Fluency with Solidworks. 
• Keyshot (or similar) & Adobe creative suite experience.

• Salary is dependent on experience, but will be broadly in line with Design Truth’s salary guide (available here)
