Lithography Business Unit Lithography Business Unit manufactures the JetStep lithography system to serve the Advanced Packaging (AP) and Flat Panel Display (FPD) markets. The BU provides Engineering, Service, Software and Applications support to help customers meet their production and technology requirements. Job Summary & Responsibilities This Electrical Engineer will design, prototype, test, and document electrical systems for our lithography system. The development scope includes motion control, sensing, AC and DC power distribution, safety systems and high-speed communication. Work with electrical, mechanical, software and optical engineers to define system requirements and machine architecture. Design electronic subsystems and cables using off-the-shelf components and build prototype. Select components such as PLCs, digital and analog signal modules, power supplies, connectors, cables, fuses, circuit breakers, sensors (pressure, flow, temperature), motor drivers, etc. Create wiring and interconnect diagram. Run design review. Work with mechanical engineers for packaging and cable routing. Build prototype and test. Create schematic, BoM, wiring diagram, cable drawing etc., and release the design with support from contract engineering service company. Design PCB with or without guidance/supervision. Schematic capture using OrCAD or similar. SPICE simulation if needed. Component selection and BoM. Interfacing with external board layout company and PCB fabrication vendors. Create design documents such as block diagrams, system functional descriptions, flow charts. Create procedures and work instructions. Follow up with ECN process. Desirable experience (Candidate expected to have experience in some of the following categories, not all.) Understanding of NFPA 79 SEMI S2, S8, S22 Basic understanding of EMC (grounding, shielding, cable/wire routing) Ability to understand safety circuit and provide feedback Basic understanding about safety standard for CE marking and safety components (SPLC, safety interlock, etc.) Support 3rd party inspection for CE and SEMI certification Support for legacy systems Find replacements for obsoleted parts Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher 1-5 years of experience Self-driven, hands on, attention to detail, willing to learn new skills Strong communication skills verbally and written Strong problem solving and analytical skills Semiconductor Capital equipment development/engineering background preferred Onto Innovation is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
