onShore Security’s Panoptic Cyberdefense is a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution built and maintained by onShore Security personnel. We believe that security is more than a product off the shelf and devote dedicated resources to our clients to assist with the building of processes, provide detection, and thoughtful analysis. onShore is looking for an Associate Security Analyst, who shares this vision to add to the team! This is a full-time position with a benefits package. 

Position Summary:

This is an associate security analyst position in our Managed Security Services division. The selected candidate will work in a small team to perform intrusion and log analysis, maintain and monitor intrusion detection sensors, research potential vulnerabilities, and prepare and present analytical reporting to our clients.

Requirements:

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills

* A solid knowledge of IP protocols

* Good knowledge of general networking concepts and protocols

* Understanding the process of packet analysis

* Experience in working in or administrating Linux / Unix environment

* Understanding of security event monitoring concepts and escalation processes

* Experience performing database queries and report preparation

* Familiarity with current trends and challenges within the security landscape

* Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.

* Understanding of patch management with the ability to consult on remediation, if needed, in a timely manner while understanding the business impact.
