Onboard is Hiring a Product Owner Near Indianapolis, IN

We are seeking an energetic product management individual who is passionate about using their market knowledge, business acumen and communication skills to translate vision to tangible values. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic about engaging with customers, stakeholders, and their cross-functional teams to understand business opportunities and challenges, develop creative and innovative solutions, and bring them to market. The ideal candidate is able to work seamlessly with other functions in the business such as Design, Development and Quality Assurance across the whole software delivery lifecycle to ensure pragmatic and holistic delivery. They will have a collaborative and customer first mindset and will be comfortable working in an emergent Agile environment with colleagues at varying levels of Agile experience. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Prioritize, define, and write requirements for implementation of new product features ensuring all proposed changes are reviewed, feedback is incorporated, and any impact is fully communicated to internal partners. 
  • Translate product vision, wireframes, concepts, and mockups into product requirements consumable by our software developers. 
  • Organize and prioritize product backlog to maximize releasable product value for our customers. 
  • Understand end user behaviors, wants, unmet needs, and key behaviors. 
  • Lead the Backlog Refinement and Sprint Reviews, Contribute to the Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives and Daily Planning Agile Ceremonies. 
  • Work closely with the Agile team members to communicate the product goal and provide timely feedback and answers to their questions to ensure that sprint goals are met. 
  • Collaborate with Development Teams, Designers, other internal stakeholders and Product Managers to write User Stories and Acceptance Criteria and ensure that the stories meet the Definition of Ready. 
  • Assist Product Managers and work with the team to create Release Plans whilst setting expectations with internal stakeholders. 
  • Assist Product Managers and the Director of Product Operations to report on delivery metrics. 
  • Drive a culture of product quality.
  • Assist teams in mitigating impediments impacting the successful completion of Sprint Goals or Release Plans. 
  • Contribute to Agile best practices and process improvement. 

What you bring: 

  • 3 years of product management experience in a growing SaaS organization. 
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum methodology, including defining a minimal viable product, and exposure to other software development methodologies. 
  • Ability to see the business as a customer and translate requirements into technical and data solutions. 
  • Ability to create and maintain a backlog and roadmap, and to prioritize that backlog based on business value and technical feasibility. 
  • Experience in breaking down large feature initiatives into smaller iterative increments of delivery. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt communication to the audience. 
  • Experience with backlog management tools i.e. Jira, Azure Devops. 
  • A passion for delivering the highest standard of customer experience. 
  • Relevant industry or functional experience depending on the product.
